Let's start a new discussion. The City of Homestead bought two tables (twenty tickets) for the Red Cross Ball. Tickets are $150.00 each. The guests of Councilwoman Lobos were set to be Lynda Bell and her husband Mark. All three were no show's... what happened or was this to agitate the other elected officials from not going ? Are Bell and Lobos playing games with our money ?...still...

It could be that Lynda didn't have a baby sitter to watch Jenna, so she couldn't go. Goodness forbid if Jenna got loose...

what a waste of money! the "corruption" continues even though she is no longer in office!

What night was the ball? I bet that was the night she was bailing Jenna out from jail.

I have a question, I am curious about. If the school does get the approval, what will happen to the building that the Fraternal Order of Police currently occupy? The officers took a run down building and turned it into a great place. They have meetings, hold charity events to benefit persons in need. It is also a place where they prepare meals for the Homestead Police Officers during storm season when others have evacuated, the officers stay on duty and work before, during and after the storm. The FOP also supports local youth groups through sponsorships for baseball, softball, wrestling, gymnastics, karate and more. The FOP paid for all of the improvements to the building and pay all of the utilities. It would be a shame to take this away from them. All of the costs are paid by members. I just think there is a way the city can help. If the city forces them out, please help them find another suitable place. Please think about it and hopefully the powers that be at City Hall will have a heart and do the right thing. Hopefully....Please give your honest response.

I am sure that Hage would never tell them to leave. They would just have to share property with the school, thats all. Most citys in any area in Florida use their schools as an evacuation headquaters/shelter. This would be no different. The presence of police and their officials will be greatly welcomed. CS-USA have always stated that the ballpark and grounds will be available to everyone in Homestead when school is not in session.
I do understand the issues. I will ask Mr. Hage and get back with you on this.

As I have been told, the city of Homestead is prepared to move the FOP to another facility.
The Mayor himself said " Without a doubt we support the FOP, and the city of homestead will do what is necessary to help with the transition."

I hope this helps. GND
